The Permaculture Army Bootcamp is currently on haitus:

Our troops saw action all over the East Bay, from the Plough Shares Permaculture Plant Nursery at Alameda Point Collaborative (APC), to the 59th Street Spiral Gardens Community Garden, BYA Community Gardens, weekly tours and BBQs at Ashby Garden, to People's Park Community Gardens, to the 59th St. People Grocery Garden's Cob Poultrygon, to building The PLANT (a new Garden & Grey Water project in West Oakland).

From remodeling the Waterside Workshops Facility, to sending books to prisoners with the Prison Literature Project, with Food Not Bombs in our very own backyard and delivering food to kitchens, volunteering with Copwatch to organize Know Your Rights Trainings and Patrols, & much more...

Over the course we had a total of 76 troops. We slept in bunks & awoke every morning at 6. We held •Morning Exercise Drills, Yoga Ninja Classes, Jujitsu Training, Capoeria Training, Women's Self Defense Training, Permaculture Design Advice & Information Workshops, Anti-Army Recruitment Interventions, Covert Secret Mission Vacant-Lot Plantings, Sunday Pancake Breakfasts & Open House Facility Tours... And it was good.

Though Bootcamp is now currently on haitus, our headquarters still operates as an active East Bay homebase for art, activism, and community building. We still host events, including Permaculture Workshops every Sunday, & we still sponsor lots of cool projects.

Sponsored Projects:
(we primarily sponsor projects our members are involved in. Send an email if you have a cool project you would like us to look at)

• The longest Urban Treesit in America ever, start to finish.

Hellarity: longest-living Bay Area squat, we reinforced it in a time of need.

• Payed for parts to build Low Power FM Community Transmitters in Chiapas.

• We host the primary Food Not Bombs Storage Fridge, and are the longest-running cook house.

• Coordinated a City-Council Campaign Run that reached 3rd Place.

• We are to proud to be one of the first sponsors of "Bleach" -- a documentary by Chanaye Thomas, about skin bleaching in South and Central America
